To Modify Default Business Rules for a Feature Definition in a Job Default

The Business Rules page of the Placement Defaults dialog box is used to select default business rules for a feature definition in a job default. These default settings determine whether the placement rules for this feature type will be enabled or disabled when you assign the feature. If multiple placement rules are applicable to the feature, you can enable some or all of the rules or you can disable all of them. For more information, see Business Rules.

If you want to specify business rules for a feature without altering the job default, you can override the job default by accessing the Placement Defaults dialog box while working with a particular design in the Design Assistant. With this method, your modifications to the feature definition will affect only to the current version of the Features Catalog and will apply only to the current design. From the list of job defaults in the Job Defaults view, select the job default that you want to edit and choose Job Default Assistant from the Go menu to open the item in the Job Default Assistant.
Or right-click the job default and select Job Default Assistant from the shortcut menu.
Or double-click the job default.
In the Feature Commodity Types folder, double-click the commodity group containing the feature that you want to edit.
Select the feature and choose Feature Properties from the Job Default menu to open the Placement Defaults dialog box.
Click the Business Rules tab to open the Business Rules page.
To disable the placement rules for this feature, clear the Enable Placement Rules check box.
To enable the rules, select the Enable Placement Rules check box and select a category of rules in the Category box. If multiple rules have been established for the selected category, select the check boxes of those that you want to enable.
Click OK.
